Assessments
Comprehensive, supportive assessments to better understand cognitive abilities, learning profiles, and neurodivergence.
At Gather Psychology, we offer a range of assessments to help children, young people, and adults gain clarity about their strengths, challenges, and support needs. Assessments can assist with understanding learning styles, identifying specific learning disorders, and exploring neurodivergence.
We take a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approach, ensuring the process is inclusive, collaborative, and empowering. You do not need a referral to access our assessment services.
Types of Assessments Offered:
Cognitive Assessments
For school-aged children and young people.
Investigates cognitive and intellectual functioning.
Explores learning profiles and identifies specific learning disorders (such as dyslexia).
Can be combined with a neurodivergence assessment if required.
Neurodivergence Assessments
Autism assessments for children and adults
ADHD assessments for children, teens, and adults
Note: For ADHD assessments, best practice involves a paediatrician (children) or psychiatrist (teens/adults) to ensure there are no underlying medical or organic causes for symptoms. Some clients may choose to proceed without a specialist referral if the assessment is for understanding their neurotype and implementing self-help strategies.
